Does anyone do this with young children/their family?

Just looking for general stories or experiences on doing this with kids. Not like toddlers but ages 7-16 and how that works out. My kids are homeschooled already and I’ve been a developer for 15 years but only remote two days a week at my current job. I feel pretty confident I have the skills and experience to freelance full time and I have a good amount set aside for dry spells or periods between contracts etc.
