To sum up How do you manage to actually get down and do the most depressing part of your work?

I don't have anything better to do but my brain just outright refuses to start it.

That task is just 1 big unit. It can't be really divided or sugarcoated (trust me I tried)

And it's the current elephant in the room. I can't go forward with anything else until I finish that.

Can't really set up a proper reward …
